Minnesota has had very good success is recent years from Jonathan Celestin to Rodney Smith and the Gophers are looking for the next Golden Gopher and that may be Covington (Ga.) Newton wide receiver DeAndre Huff. Huff spoke with GopherDigest about his upcoming visit to the Twin Cities.

"Things have been going well this summer," Huff said to GopherDigest. "I just recently went to the IMG 7 on 7 tourney and my team did well and we took second. I thought personally I did very well. I'm really working on my route running and my overall strength so I can be better as a senior."

Huff has a handful of teams standing out to him right now.

"Rutgers, Minnesota, Miami (Oh.), Indiana and Georgia are five school I'm really interested in right now," Huff explained. "Those schools are the ones I really like and I feel they are the best place for me. Georgia is the only one of those schools not to offer, but I think they are real close to offering. I camped there and Coach Schottenheimer and the rest of the coaches said they really like me since got a chance to see me in person. We'll see what happens there, but I'll be visiting Miami (Oh.) on Saturday and Rutgers sometime in July."

The Georgia wide receiver also set up a visit for Minnesota next month.

"Coach Anderson from Minnesota has been telling me how they just can't wait for me to come up there on a visit next month," Huff told GopherDigest. "I'll be visiting there with some teammates on the 18th and I'm interested in them as I feel like it's a good place for me football and career wise. They have a good business department and that's what I want to major in. I'm looking forward to seeing what they have to offer."

Huff wants a decision by the end of July.

"I want to have a decision made by no later than the end of July," Huff said. "There's no specific reason I want a decision by that date, but I'll be looking for if all these schools have my major, their location and most of all their graduation rate. Not only as a school, but as a football team."
