Minnesota had a Midwest defensive end on campus earlier today looking for his second Big Ten offer and GopherDigest.com caught up with him to learn the latest. "The camp went well," Michigan defensive end Jalen Cochran said to GopherDigest. "They had me go from linebacker drills to defensive line. The defensive line coach said they will evaluate me after a couple of games to see if I improved at defensive end. He said I was a little raw, but said there's something there if I work at it. I think most teams want me to be a defensive end, so I have to work at it. It's not going to happen over night as it's going to be something I have to practice at and show progress throughout the season."

The Gophers campus and coaches made Cochran's visit one to remember.

"It's a beautiful campus there," Cochran explained. "It's probably the best campus I've seen so far. I got a chance to go downtown and that was really nice too. I'd say it was that good as every building I went into was really nice. Usually on some tours I go on, I feel like it's not right because I'm far from home, but it didn't seem like I was far. I was comfortable in the environment I was in. Overall it's a great school. I also thought the coaches were great people. I feel really like the whole staff gave off a family based team feel. They been together as a whole for a while now and I can tell. I thought was a little raw, but won most of the time so I think did well."

Cochran would definitely consider the Gophers if they were to offer.

"I'd be very interested just like any other school, but since I got to see this one, I would say they would be toward the top," Cochran said. "They'd be so high mostly because I'm more familiar with the staff and I enjoyed the camp and tour of campus. There's nothing really that makes them be at the bottom of the list. I'll probably hit one or two more camps this summer, but don't know where yet. My favorites right now are Toledo and Iowa as Toledo was my first offer and I love the staff. I visited there multiple times and talk to the coaches pretty much everyday. Iowa was my first Big Ten offer and they believed in me when no other team did. I haven't visited Iowa yet, but I like them too. I'm not sure when I'll make a decision yet, but it could be in the summer or during the season, not sure yet."
