One of the best tight ends that attended the Gophers camp on Sunday was Pittsburg (Kan.) tight end Trevor Kent. GopherDigest spoke with Kent following camp.

"I've been to Kansas State, Notre Dame and Iowa State for camps this summer," Kent explained to GopherDigest. I've also gotten letters from schools like Nebraska and TCU. I grew up a strong Mizzou fan and was always watching their games, but I kind of got off that a couple years ago and now I haven't had a favorite team as I just love watching football in general. Our running back (Alex Barnes) just want to K-State, so I'll probably be watching them now."

Minnesota's coaches had some good feedback for the Kansas tight end. "Reeves thought I did a great job on the board and with all the things we were doing. He was just showing me their different blocking techniques and where to put my hands and everything, so it was good," Kent told GopherDigest. "Coach Kill talked about maybe recruiting me more after this and asked if I wanted to get out of Kansas and I told him of course I do. I'm trying to improve on my route running and hands before next season as our team doesn't do a lot of passing as we're in a veer offense, so I've been working on that a lot at camps."

Kent has more than a few connections to the Gophers.

"My dad and my uncle know Coach Kill and my uncle was actually the quarterback for Coach Kill when he coached at Pitt State and won the national championship. My dad also played at Pitt State while Coach Kill was still there, so my parents and coaches know him pretty well. I talked to Coach Kill today and I really like him, he's a great guy. I think my uncle still stays in touch with him. So far, Minnesota has one of the greatest campuses I've seen thus far. I love this place and I love the Midwest feel of it. All the coaches are good guys and I've had family members and coaches tell me good things about them, so Minnesota would be up there at the top for me."
