Marshall (Minn.) offensive lineman Blaise Andries has hit the camp circuit hard this summer and he recaps his Gopher camp and gives an update on his recruiting to GopherDigest.

"I've been to camps now at Minnesota twice, Iowa, Nebraska, Notre Dame," Andries said. "I'm also going to Northwestern for a game, Iowa for a game, Minnesota for a game and I'll also be coming to their Junior day and a spring practice too."

Iowa and Nebraska made good impressions on the Marshall lineman.

"They was good," Andries told GopherDigest. "That was earlier in the summer, so I was kind of getting used to the camp scene, but by the end of each I was doing well and they felt good. I've been talking with Coach Cavanaugh from Nebraska and both Ferentz coaches from Iowa and Coach Morgan, so it's good."

Andries thought his second time around at Minnesota's camp went very well.

"I didn't test as well as I thought I should today, but as soon as we got to the football and hitting portion, I thought I did pretty well," Andries explained. "They taught us on their offensive line techniques and it felt good. The whole day was fun. I spoke with Coach Limegrover after camp and he said they really liked what they saw today. He wants me to come to a spring practice, junior day, watch a game this fall and sit in on some of their meetings. Coach Sherels basically said the same thing and said that he heard that it sounded good from what he heard. I grew up a Gopher fans and been to a couple of games here the last few years as a fan. It's always fun watching Minnesota and they've won the last few times I've been here."

The Marshall mauler has a few things he's working on before his Junior season, but a Gopher offer could change things.

"I'm trying to be a good leader and really have to work on my pass sets as well," Andries said. "Keeping my hands inside and keeping my hips low. I'm working on being that leader so we can get far in this year. I'd love a Minnesota offer as it would be fun being a Gopher. Playing college ball is what I'm looking for and having a good community around it. Getting to play for Minnesota would be nice as it's the home-state, close to home and I have family out here, so we'll see what happens."
