Wisconsin defensive back Calvin Swenson had a good camp on Saturday at Minnesota and GopherDigest spoke with him following camp.

"I've been hearing from Northern Arizona, Brown University, Massachusetts and I have an offer from Concordia-St. Paul," Swenson said. "I also went to the Minnesota camp on Saturday and I'm going to Northern Illinois on the 27th, so I've been busy."

Swenson thought the Gopher camp was a definite success.

"The camp on Saturday was great and I feel like I got a lot of good exposure," Swenson explained. "I think I did well, but there are always things that could use improvement like footwork and technique. I normally broad jump around 6'6" and only got 8'11" this time, so that was disappointing. I enjoyed working with Coach Sawvel though as he's a great coach and seems to be knowledgeable about the game. He gave me his contact info after and I was asked to stay after to get more work in with some other campers that impressed him."

The Wisconsin defensive back would be very interested in the Gophers.

"I'm interested in Minnesota as they have a great business and medical programs," Swenson said to GopherDigest. "Those are the two fields I'm interested in as I would also like to play football there if given the opportunity. I'd consider a walk-on as I love playing football and would try that if needed. I'm really working on my footwork and technique heading into my season year as well as my strength, speed and explosiveness.
