Minnesota recruiting Maryland TE Hamilton Day

Minnesota has shown recent interest in Maryland tight end Hamilton Day and GopherDigest gets the latest on his recruiting from Day himself.

"I have offers from West Point, Albany (NY) and Richmond thus far," Hamilton Day said to GopherDigest. "I've been talking to Connecticut and just started talking to Minnesota as well. I've also had some contact with N.C. State, so things are good right now."

The Gophers are the latest school to start showing interest in the Maryland tight end.

"They liked my film and got my contact info a few days ago," Day explained. "Recruiting coordinator Billy Glasscock is the coach I've been talking to and he's been telling me that he likes how I'm a true tight end who can block and catch. The only things I know about Minnesota is that they're in the Big 10, that they're consistently pretty good and their tight end last year, Maxx Williams, was an amazing player. Their location for me is perfect as it's far enough away that I feel like I'm not at home, and it's cold, which is what I like."

A Minnesota offer would be a game-changer for Day.

"It'd be huge," Day told GopherDigest. "It's everything I want in a school, so it'd be awesome. I'm looking to make a decision hopefully around November as that's around the time our season is over."
