Minnesota extended a PWO offer to Wisconsin DB Calvin Swenson on Saturday

Minnesota extended a preferred walk-on offer to Wisconsin DB Calvin Swenson on Saturday's victory over Kent State. GopherDigest caught up with Swenson to learn more.

"I really enjoyed the game yesterday and TCF Bank Stadium has a great atmosphere," Calvin Swenson said to GopherDigest. "My dad and sister came with and they enjoyed things as well. The game was cool and as I said, it had a great atmosphere. The defense played really well."

The Minnesota coaches were sure to let Swenson know he's a priority.

"I spoke with Coach Sawvel and Schaekel at the game and they said I have a preferred walk-on offer," Swenson explained. "They also said it could possibly become an offer in the future and that they want me at Minnesota. It's exciting as I've always wanted to play college football and having an opportunity to do it at the highest level is very humbling."

The Wisconsin DB is still a long way off from a decision.

"I still just have an offer from Concordia-St. Paul, but I'm probably not going to make a decision for a while yet. Minnesota is high on my list of schools as I really enjoyed working with Sawvel at camp and the game day visit. They have a good football program and academics, plus they're located in a big city. As I said though, I'll be taking my time."
