2017 Iowa QB Rocky Lombardi enjoys his Minnesota visit

2017 Iowa quarterback Rocky Lombardi took an unofficial visit to Minnesota over the weekend and came away very impressed.

"The visit was awesome and I had a lot of fun," 2017 West Des Moines quarterback Rocky Lombardi said to GopherDigest. "I really enjoyed the environment there as well. I had a great talk with quarterback's coach Jim Zebrowski and he said he's been keeping up with me on film and likes me so far. He's going to evaluate me more on their bye week this week."

Lombardi enjoyed watching the Gophers on and off the field Saturday.

"I really liked the game and I liked the singing to the crowd at the end of the game, even after a loss," Lombardi explained. "I loved how nice everyone was there too. I'd say my favorite part of the visit was getting to talk to the coaches and getting to know how I would feel in the program and if I'm comfortable there or not. I feel like that's the most important thing when choosing a school as if you like the coaches and the feel the school/campus, other wise it won't be a good fit."

The junior quarterback is now done with visit and will focus on the season.

"I don't believe I'll be visiting anywhere else as I have playoff practices these next few weekends, so this Minnesota visit will probably be one of my last."
