Gophers CB commit Elisha Daniels loves his Minnesota official visit

Minnesota had a large group of official visitors this weekend for their close loss to #15 Michigan, including Gophers CB commit Elisha Daniels. GopherDigest spoke with Daniels following his visit to learn more.

"I visited the campus, saw the dorms, had meetings to go over film with Coach Sawvel and talked head coaching opportunities with Coach Claeys. I loved it," Elisha Daniels said to GopherDigest following his official visit this weekend. "From talking with Claeys, it sounds like the University and boosters are behind him to be the next man in charge. Coach Sawvel was just breaking down the mistakes in the game that could've really changed the turn out on Saturday. He explained and broke down everything as the opportunity that brother and I have to play early is real. He likes my brother Elijah at strong safety and me as a boundary corner and nickle, like Boddy-Calhoun."

Daniels enjoyed his time with the players and at the game.

"Ray Buford was my host and I met Ray back on my unofficial visit, so it was good to be back with him," Daniels explained to GopherDigest. "He really showed me a lot of stuff about Minnesota. My favorite part of the visit was hands down the game. Seeing the student section get crazy like that and the way the coaches are to the players, I love it. They let the players have fun and play with a certain swag I like."

If Minnesota head coach is Tracy Claeys, Elisha has no doubt where he'll be in college.

"If Claeys is the man, I'm 100% to Minnesota. Claeys and Kill have 20+ years of experience with each other and the tendencies that Kill had easily rubbed off on Coach Claeys. I like that, so I have no problem playing for him. I want Minnesota fans to know that the 2016 class is going to make history. Go Gophers!"
