"I just received an offer from Coach Claeys!," Garrison Wright told GopherDigest last night. "I have to wait and see if we get a bowl game as a junior college to know when I can setup my official visit there."
Minnesota has been talking with Wright for a couple months now and finally made a move last night.
"Coach Claeys said that they were excited about me and that they have a need at my position for next season," Wright explained. "They see me as a guard and Claeys thought I fit what they wanted to do offensively with my physicality on the interior of the offensive line. Minnesota is a great offer. From talking with their coaching staff so far, they seem like a great group of coaches and I'm excited to get over to see everything and meet everyone. My parents are extremely excited and proud as well. They think it seems like a great fit."
The Gophers are in a good spot for the Butler guard with only a few more weeks until the December signing day.
"I don't want other coaches to be hurt, but Minnesota is the favorite now," Wright said. "I've talked a lot to Memphis and there are a few others that just hit me up, but not sure who is close to offering next. I'll be graduating in December and have two years to play two, so I'll be making my decision in the coming weeks once I have a chance to visit some schools."
