Gopher offer interests Missouri OL commit Trystan Castillo

Minnesota offered Webb City (Mo.) offensive lineman Trystan Castillo on Monday night and the Missouri commitment is interested in the Golden Gophers.

"Minnesota offered me on Monday night and now that Coach Claeys got the job, it's a for sure offer," Missouri OL commit Trystan Castillo told GopherDigest. "Coach Claeys said that he's going to recruit me personally because KiAnte is from my high school and their staff is close with ours as Kill coached there."

This new Gopher offer has piqued the interest of Castillo.

"The offer is at offensive line and they think I'm a very good player that could come in and possibly play early on," Castillo said. "He doesn't want to make promises because he believes in earning everything, but he thinks I could still play early. He loves that I have the heart and toughness to run block. After everything going on at Missouri, I'm definitely looking into all my options. Having ties with Minnesota because of my coaches and KiAnte going there, it's definitely a school I'm looking at."

A couple of Big 12 schools are also trying to work their way into the mix for the SEC OL commit.

"Oklahoma talked with me about coming up on an official visit next week, but I can't because we have a playoff game now, so I'll most likely visit them. I've also been talking with Oklahoma State a little bit too," Castillo explained to GopherDigest. "Oklahoma's offensive line coach said he sees me as an offer player, but he just wants to see my in person first, which is why he wanted me to take an official visit next week against TCU."

Minnesota is looking good to get a visit from Castillo following the offer.

"It's a pretty high chance that Minnesota will get an official visit," Castillo told GopherDigest. "My mom really likes Coach Claeys after their talk this week and I'm really interested in checking it out after talking with KiAnte this week about things."
