Missouri TE Chase Allen holds two Big Ten offers, including one from Minnesota

Nixa (Mo.) tight end Chase Allen picked up two Big Ten offers yesterday and is one of the fastest rising prospects in all the Midwest. He spoke with GopherDigest about his new offers.

"Coach Claeys gave me a call last night and that's when the Gophers offered," Missouri tight end Chase Allen said to GopherDigest. "He said he loved my ball skills and athleticism and was impressed with my blocking as well. He has a lot of respect for my family as my dad coached against their staff when they were at Southern Illinois."

Minnesota is benefiting from a close relationship in their chase for Allen.

"Their offer is one of the few I'm really considering," Allen said about his new Gopher offer. "I have a lot of respect for their coaching staff and they know how to use and develop their tight ends, which really has caught my eye as well. I think I'll be able to make it up the first weekend of December for an official visit to Minnesota as well. I'll have to double check my basketball schedule, but I believe it'll workout."

The Gophers are sitting well heading into this weekend with the rising Missouri tight end.

"I don't really have a "list" so to speak, but if I did, Minnesota would be near the top. Excited about things going forward with them!"
