"I had a great in-home visit with Minnesota tonight," Missouri tight end Chase Allen said to the GopherDigest last night. "Head coach Tracy Claeys and tight ends coach Rob Reeves were able to talk coaching with my dad and I am very excited for my official visit up there this weekend! They said I was at the top of their board at the tight end position as well. I thought that Claeys and Reeves are a couple of real down to earth guys and I know they're going to do some great things up there."
Allen's parents were very impressed with the Gopher coaches last night.
"My mom and dad are very excited to get on that visit and my dad especially feels like I would be in good hands," Allen explained. "Coach Claeys message to me last night was that I can be a difference maker. It was also very meaningful that his first in-home visit as a head coach was to my house. That meant a lot to me."
The Missouri tight end has a few things he's looking forward to seeing in Minneapolis this weekend.
"What I'm looking forward to most is really getting a feel for the University of Minnesota," Allen told GopherDigest. "I'm excited for the opportunity to play there and I can't wait to see what they have to offer in person. Minnesota is definitely still one of my top choices right now, but I don't think I'll be making a decision right after the visit. I haven't decided when I want to make a decision by, but maybe before the year is over. I'm also probably going to visit Iowa State as they offered me last night, but I'm looking forward to this weekend!"
