Georgia defensive end Taiyon Devers annouced via Twitter this afternoon that he's pulled the trigger on becoming the next Golden Gopher while on his Minnesota official visit. Here's what Devers had to say to GopherDigest.
"Minnesota offered me when on my in-home visit, so I knew that they wanted me," Devers explained to GopherDigest. "I told Coach Claeys this afternoon and he was excited and wants to talk more about it tomorrow. I chose Minnesota because I believe this school can lead me where I want to be. Minnesota is the "land of opportunity" If I don't make it to the next level (God forbid), I'll have something to fall back on career wise at Minnesota."
Devers will graduate from Georgia Prep Sports Academy in December and be on campus at Minnesota in January. He'll sign with the Gophers on Wednesday and will have five years to play four.
GopherDigest will have more with Minnesota's new defensive end commit tomorrow when he leaves campus.
