"I decided on Minnesota over TCU because of Coach Claeys and the rest of the Minnesota staff," New JUCO offensive line commit Garrison Wright said to GopherDigest. "They're just a bunch of great guys at Minnesota and what they have there among one another is tough to beat. I really got along well and players and coaches there and I had all my remaining questions answered when Coach Claeys came down earlier last week."
Wright said he knew about his Minnesota feelings while on his TCU visit.
"Things starting clicking for me about a decision yesterday when I was at TCU," Wright explained. "It was coming into the back of my mind that I knew when I wanted to go and I came home today and talked about it with my parents and we decided on Minnesota. I called up Coach Claeys and man was he excited. He was thrilled to have me and that's always nice to hear. My parents are 100% on board with this decision."
The JUCO offensive lineman will now sign with the Gophers on Wednesday.
"I will now be signing with Minnesota on Wednesday," Wright told GopherDigest. "Coach Claeys has told me that their first choice for me will be guard when I get there, but if there's a bigger need at another position, that's not out of the question as well. I don't really mind where I play as I just want to see the field and help Minnesota out anyway I can. I want Minnesota fans to know I can't wait get up there and Go Gophers!"
