"Coach Claeys is the one that called and offered," JUCO running back Kobe McCrary said to GopherDigest. "He told me that he liked me and that they need a bigger, experienced back and that I'm the guy that'll fit their offense best. He just told me to keep doing well in the classroom and to stay out of trouble."
McCrary is feeling good about his new Big Ten offer.
"I'm blessed to have earned the offer," McCrary explained. "I plan on visiting with my older brother on January 23rd and I'm pretty sure I like everything about the University of Minnesota. I know that they should be pretty good the next couples of years with the talent they're bringing in, as they already signed one of my offensive lineman in Garrison Wright. He and I have been talking about Minnesota they even offered as he kept telling me to be patient and they they were going to offer. He also told me he wanted to be blocking for me again, and this gives us a chance. I know Garrison is a hard working and I would love to have him blocking for me again. I wouldn't have any of the success I had this past season without him and the rest of my offensive line.
The Gophers are now leading for the JUCO running back following the offer.
"Minnesota is on top now," McCrary told GopherDigest. "It means a lot that the head man took the time to call me and offer. I really like the Minnesota staff as Coach Poore is a real cool dude too. After doing some research, their offense fits me perfectly and Garrison will also be going there helps them too. If my visit goes as well as I think it will, there's a good chance I'll commit."
