Minnesota commit Ko Kieft enjoyed his official visit to the Twin Cities

Minnesota commit Ko Kieft enjoyed his official visit to the Twin Cities this past weekend and he broke it down with GopherDigest.

"The visit went well," Gophers TE commit Ko Kieft told GopherDigest. "I had a chance to visit the stadium, some of the different housing spaces, the weight room, practice facility and tour the campus and it was all sweet. The current weight room is already awesome and they're getting a brand new one. The campus is huge, but all the places I need to be are within walking distance, so it's all good. I also got to speak with an academic adviser and that good as well."

Spending time with the Minnesota coaches and players meant a lot to Kieft.

"Brandon Lingen was my host and he's a great football player, but an even better guy," Kieft explained to GopherDigest. "He told me that he really enjoys his experience at Minnesota as a whole, which he meant as a football player, as a student as a college kid with a social life. Coach Reeves and I talked a lot while on my visit and he told me that I'll be more of a "Y" tight end than an "H", plus Coach Claeys told me that he sees me as a "Y" as well, but if that doesn't work out, they can put me at defensive end."

The Gophers are still firm for the Iowa tight end.

"I think Coach Reeves is coming down this week, but I'm not sure on the date yet. I loved my visit to Minnesota!"
