The Wolverines just beat #3 Maryland and are expected to be back in Top 25

Michigan's lone Big Ten losses have come against two ranked teams (Purdue, Iowa)

The Gophers are 0-6 in conference play.  Attending games at The Barn has gone from grim to laughable.  All the while, there have been reports swirling saying that there's a chance the father Rick Pitino and son, Richard Pitino, may become a tandem and team up at UNLV next season.  Both programs would be left in disrepair, but this losing streak is too depressing to even entertain that happening.

Okay, so Michigan right.  Overview:

When:  730 CT

Where:  Ann Arbor, Michigan

TV:  BTN, ESPN 1500

Overall record:  13-5

B1G conference record:  3-2

Largest margin of victory:  105-46 vs. Youngstown St.

Despite losing Spike Albrecht for the season, the Wolverines still have a dynamic guard in Caris LeVert to lean on this season.  LeVert, averaging 17.6/5/5 on 50/45/80 is really having an impact this season as a senior.  Perhaps, he has been overshadowed by fellow Big Ten senior Denzel Valentine, in addition to past injuries; that the national spotlight hasn't quite picked him up this season.  He did put up a triple-double earlier in the season and could possibly go near the end of the first round of the NBA Draft this summer.

LeVert is sort of a marvel for any of the Gopher defenders that have virtually no chance of containing him.  We have zero quality shooting guard/small forward defenders.  I had hope for Charles Buggs, but we know how that's gone the last few seasons.  With no one to guard LeVert and the Wolverines coming off a close win over Maryland you can expect a blood bath.  It was refreshing to see the Gophers play Indiana somewhat close, but the Gopher's guards will really be tested in this game.  If Mason continues to be average it should be over by halftime.
