"The visit was really good," New Gophers defensive back PWO commit Calvin Swenson said to GopherDigest. "Minnesota has great coaches and lots of opportunities. The team has a great family atmosphere and I am looking forward to becoming a part of it."

Swenson enjoyed his time with the Gopher players and the other recruits.

"My host was Matt Morse. He is a receiver from Apple Valley. He was a great host and help answer questions I had about the program and school," Swenson explained to GopherDigest. "His message to me was that Minnesota is a great place and he has really enjoyed his time there. He said just keep working hard and good things will come from it. I spent lot of time with John Mack and Mark Williams while I was there too. Mark said he liked the visit, but wasn't sure when he'd be making a decision yet."

The Minnesota coaches were also sure to let Swenson know about their interest in him.

"I talked a lot with Coach Sawvel, Coach O'Brien and Coach Claeys," Swenson told GopherDigest. "Sawvel said that now is a great time to come in to the program and that there is lots of opportunity to compete for a spot in the future. Coach O'Brien talked to me about scheme and said a lot of the same things as Coach Sawvel. Coach Claeys said he was excited that I joined the program and is looking forward to see what will happen in the future. I decided to commit to Minnesota as I liked it a lot. It has great academics and opportunities. The coaches are great and I enjoyed spending time with the players. The program is also on the rise and I want to be a part of it."

Swenson has a message for Gopher fans.

"I'm excited to be a part of the Gopher program!"
