PWO ATH Danny Pietruszewski wants to be the next Maxx Williams

South St. Paul (Minn.) athlete and new Gopher signee Danny Pietruszewski is the latest Gopher to sign in the 2016 class and he went in-depth with to share more about his reasons to sign with Minnesota. What is your current height and weight? What weight would the Minnesota staff like you to report at this summer?

DP: I am currently 6'3" 225 pounds and the coaches are fine with where I am at right now. What are your individual and team goals you hope to accomplish during your college career?

DP: My individual goal is to obviously get playing time, but I want to fulfill my role on the team in any way that is asked of me. I think as a team, our goal is to win a Big Ten Championship. What are you looking to work on the most this spring to prepare yourself for Big Ten football?

DP: I am looking forward to improving as an all around football player. What future moment are you looking forward to the most as a Golden Gopher?

DP: I am looking forward to running onto the field at TCF playing in front of my home state. I am also looking forward to celebrating team win in the locker room after games. What was the main reason you chose to attend the University of Minnesota?

DP: It has always been a dream of mine to play for the University and I believed in everything that the University has to offer from academics to the football side of things. What team do you want to beat the most as a Gopher and why?

DP: I would say I want to beat Wisconsin the most because I was raised to be a Gopher fan and to hate the Badgers. Is there any unfinished academic business or are you all set to enroll at Minnesota?

DP: I am all set to enroll at Minnesota. If you don't make it to the NFL, where do you see yourself in 10 years?

DP: I see myself in the with a steady job, a wife, and children. What is it about Coach Claeys and the coaching staff that makes you want to play for them?

DP: I have nothing but great things to say about the coaching staff. They were all very approachable, and I have a tremendous amount of respect for the staff at the University. What is something you learned about the University of Minnesota that surprised you during the recruiting process?

DP: I was surprised to see how much effort is put in to make a program such a success. What position do you expect to play at Minnesota? What other position did the Gopher staff mention as a possibility?

DP: I am coming as an athlete, and I believe that I will be playing the H-back position. They have also mentioned me playing linebacker or safety. What have the coaches told you regarding how they plan to utilize your strengths as a player?

DP: They plan to take advantage of my athleticism and utilize me in many different ways. Have you had any communication with other Minnesota recruits and if so what?

DP: I have had communication with the other recruits and we talk about things like school and what we are doing to prepare for college. What player do you model your game after and why?

DP: I feel that I model my play after Maxx Williams because I am a tough, physical runner, that is able to do many different things.
