Kiondre Thomas wants to be the next great Gopher DB

Fort Smith (Ark.) defensive back and new Gopher signee Kiondre Thomas is the latest Gopher to sign in the 2016 class and he went in-depth with to share more about his reasons to sign with Minnesota. What is your current height and weight? What weight would the Minnesota staff like you to report at this summer?

KT: I am currently 6'0" 170 pounds and the coaches want me to come in at 175 lbs. What are your individual and team goals you hope to accomplish during your college career?

KT: I want to be an All-American & win a Big Ten championship. What are you looking to work on the most this spring to prepare yourself for Big Ten football?

KT: I'm going to be working on strength & conditioning this spring. What future moment are you looking forward to the most as a Golden Gopher?

KT: I am looking forward to competing against some of the best talent in the country week in and week out. What was the main reason you chose to attend the University of Minnesota?

KT: The main reason I picked Minnesota is that I love the city. What team do you want to beat the most as a Gopher and why?

KT: I want to beat Wisconsin because we haven't beat them in a while. Is there any unfinished academic business or are you all set to enroll at Minnesota?

KT: I am all set to attend Minnesota. If you don't make it to the NFL, where do you see yourself in 10 years?

KT: In 10 years, I'm thinking about coaching football. What is it about Coach Claeys and the coaching staff that makes you want to play for them?

KT: I want to play for coach Sawvel because I think he'll get me to the next level. What is something you learned about the University of Minnesota that surprised you during the recruiting process?

KT: Minnesota surprised me on how beautiful the town was. What position do you expect to play at Minnesota? What other position did the Gopher staff mention as a possibility?

KT: I'm expected to play corner. What have the coaches told you regarding how they plan to utilize your strengths as a player?

KT: They want to use me as a press man boundary corner. Have you had any communication with other Minnesota recruits and if so what?

KT: Me and the other recruits talk through a group message. What player do you model your game after and why?

KT: I've never modeled myself after anyone, but people always compare me to Eric Murray, so I guess him.
