Kansas TE Trevor Kent receives another Big Ten offer, this time from the Minnesota Golden Gophers

Pittsburg (Kan.) tight end Trevor Kent received another Big Ten offer this afternoon, this time from the Minnesota Golden Gophers. Kent spoke with GopherDigest about the new offer.

"I've known for awhile now that this offer was coming," Kansas tight end Trevor Kent said to GopherDigest.com about his new Minnesota offer. "Minnesota has been in touch with me since I camped there this past summer and Coach Reeves came by the school last fall and Coach Miller came by in January, so they'd been showing a lot of interest. Coach Reeves messaged me this morning at 7 AM saying to call him and when I did he offered me. He told me about how he personally wanted to offer me last fall around October / November, but then Coach Kill retired and they were waiting to see if they were going to retained full-time and just a bunch of other factors, but they were able to watch film last week as a staff and now I have the offer."

Kent would be a tight end for the Golden Gophers.

"Coach Reeves told me that he wants to use me as an "H" tight end and that I'm one of the top, if not the top guy on their board at the position," Kent explained to GopherDigest. "This Minnesota offer means a lot though. When I camped there this past summer, I really developed a good bond with Coach Kill, and while it's too bad that he's gone, I loved the feel of the other coaches I met up there. I really enjoyed working with Coach Reeves while I was there. Minnesota defintely is in it for me as I really enjoyed the camp there, plus I have a lot of friends and family that are Minnesota fans because of Coach Kill."

The Pittsburg native is still wide open and has more visits lined up.

"I don't really have any favorites or anything as it's still early and I want to visit more schools," Kent told GopherDigest. "I'm visiting Mizzou this weekend, Kansas after that, Northwestern on the 17th of March I believe and then I'll figure out where I'm going to watch a spring practice. I'm just taking things day by day as I know more offers will be coming. I just talked with Coach Gundy from Oklahoma and they could be offering soon, so we'll see how things keep progressing. I'll make a decision when I just get that feeling from a school that I'm comfortable there and it's a good fit."
