"I was offered by the offensive coordinator Jay Johnson," Louisiana WR/RB JaKyle Holmes said to GopherDigest about his new Minnesota offer. "He told me they watched my film as a staff and they really liked me and they saw me as a slot wide receiver / running back and that they wanted to offer me. He loves how I can run and have great acceleration and I can play in different spots on the field. I feel great about this new offer and it's a really big one, plus it's a chance to play in the Big Ten."
The Gophers offering means a lot to the Ponchatoula standout.
"It really means a lot for Minnesota to offer as I thought I was getting looked over by big schools like that," Holmes explained to GopherDigest. "I'm very happy that Minnesota saw something in me that they liked and gave me a chance to play for them. I know that Minnesota is a really big school there and I was told they just got a new stadium built, but that's all I really know right now. I'm absolutely going to visit this summer."
Minnesota now sits atop for Holmes following the offer.
"Minnesota is my top school right now," Holmes told GopherDigest. "They're my biggest offer and that means a lot. I'm going to take some visits soon, but I haven't talked that any coaches about that yet, but that should be coming soon. I'm looking to make a decision in the summer time."
