"Coach Bart Miller is the Gopher coach who offered me," Illinois defensive lineman Olalere Oladipo said to GopherDigest. "He was just telling me about how Minnesota goes about their recruiting and the program. He told me to do my own research on the Gophers, so I would have my own idea about the school when I go visit. Coach Miller said that they just don't offer kids because other schools do. They take their time on every recruit to make sure that's who they really want to potentially bring into their program. He didn't specifically say what he liked about me so much that they wanted to offer, but just that they really liked me on film. I expect them to tell me more when I get out there for a visit. I'm waiting on him to send me the spring schedule so my mother and I pick a date out, but we'll most likely visit Minnesota this spring."
Oladipo does have to do study up about his newest offer.
"I don't really know much about Minnesota other than their record from last season," Oladipo explained to GopherDigest. "I was planning on watching some film on them to see what they run on defense. I also heard it's really cold up there, but I am from Illinois, so how much colder can it get. Minnesota is definitely on my radar and as I research more on the school, they'll probably grow on me."
The Illinois defensive lineman and a slew of visits lined up in the coming weeks and months.
"I'll visiting Toledo this weekend, and I have other visits planned to Iowa State, Penn State, Purdue, Indiana, Bowling Green and Northern Illinois," Oladipo told GopherDigest. "I'm looking at making a decision either in the start of football season or in the middle because I feel like by that time, I will have all the knowledge I need to make the best decision possible."
