Rushford athlete Noah Carlson is getting early collegiate interest in both football and track

Rushford athlete Noah Carlson is getting early collegiate interest in both football and track including the Gophers. Carlson spoke with GopherDigest about his recruiting.

"I'm getting interest from Minnesota, North Dakota State, Winona State, Yale and South Dakota State," Rushford (Minn.) wide receiver Noah Carlson said to GopherDigest. "For track, I have interest from Michigan, Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Kansas, Nebraska, West Point, Harvard, North Carolina, Stanford, Missouri, Louisville and LSU, so things have been going well."

Some Big Ten schools are hoping to have Carlson on campus soon.

"I was going to go up to Minnesota junior day for football, but I had to miss it because I had a basketball game," Carlson explained to GopherDigest. "I'm planning on going up to North Dakota State and I've visited Iowa for their track junior day. I was planning on going to NDSU next weekend, but they're full on visitors for that day, but I'll work something out. I've also been invited to Minnesota's spring football practices, so I'm not sure when I'll be going, but I do plan on going. The coaches there have been telling me that they're interested in me and that I'm on their radar. Same thing NDSU has been telling me is that they want me to attend their camp this summer so that they can get a live evaluation of me. I'm also thinking about visiting Michigan and Stanford in the summer, but not 100% sure on those yet."

Carlson grew up a Gopher fan, so a Minnesota offer could go a long way.

"I've always been a Gophers fan, so it would mean a lot to me because I know that an offer from a Big Ten school like Minnesota is a reflection of all the hard work I've put in to get there. The closest school I think that's close to offering is Michigan for track, so we'll see how things play out."
