"I had a great time at Minnesota on Saturday," Caledonia defensive end Ezekiel Ott said to GopherDigest. "I was able to tour the facilities, watch their spring practice and then talk with some coaches afterwards, so it was a pretty successful day."
Ott spoke with a couple of Gopher coaches after practice on Saturday.
"I spoke a lot with defensive line coach Jeff Phelps and my area recruiting coach Mike Sherels," Ott explained to GopherDigest. "Phelps and I talked about practice as it was good stuff. We had a great time watching them as it really got us excited to play football soon. Sherels just talked about some recruiting stuff with me and hoped I had a good time. As far as an offer goes, we are going to see how my recover goes as whether or not I will be going to the camp or wait until my first game to prove that I'm back at 100%. If I recover faster, I'll camp this summer, but I may just hold off until the fall where I know I'm 100% as well. I really liked what I saw at Minnesota and it would be great to play there."
Ott was also down in Iowa during the month of March as well.
"I was at Iowa the weekend before Minnesota and it went great," Ott told GopherDigest. "I was honored to be invited to practice and a tour. I talked a lot with coach Morgan and Wallace and they both had good stuff to say. We talked about Iowa's program and how they practice and play. As far an an offer from Iowa, we will talk about that when I'm rehabbed and coach Wallace was going to come to Caledonia and watch me workout this spring. Coach Sherels also said he will be coming to Caledonia to watch me workout then too. I really enjoyed it down there in Iowa, so it was a good visit."
The Caledonia defensive end has more visits lined up for April.
"I'll be going back to Minnesota this Saturday for their spring game, I'll be at NDSU on April 15th and then back down to Iowa on the 23rd."
