"Blaise is a leader on and off the field and he is an excellent role model for our younger players," Marshall head coach Terry Bahlmann told GopherDigest. "He is always willing to help at youth camps and also help out the younger offensive lineman. He is also a 4.0 plus student. As a player he is a very physical run blocker with the ability to get on a defender at the second level."
Bahlmann was also pretty involved in Andries' recruiting process.
"I visited with a lot of the college coaches as most of them made contact with me before talking with Blaise," Bahlmann explained to GopherDigest. "Coach Sherels recruits our area and does an excellent job of communicating with us. I have talked to Coach Claeys a couple of times and I like his no nonsense type approach and that he wants to play physical football and recruit physical football players."
Andries needs to continue to develop his overall game.
"Blaise has excellent size and his strength right now is his drive blocking. He is continuing to work on his pass blocking. Blaise is a 3 sport athlete, but always gets into the weight room after basketball and baseball practice and also after games. He is willing to put the time in. Blaise is also one of our captains and he will lead our offensive line. He does a good job of mentoring our younger lineman. We need him to anchor our offensive and defensive lines."
Bahlmann believes that Andries will be a great representative for the University of Minnesota.
"I think the Gopher fans are going to see a dedicated, hardworking, physical offensive lineman that will be an excellent citizen and a great representative for the Gophers program both on and off the field."
