Georgia linebacker Jeffery Burley gets his first Big Ten offer from the Minnesota Gophers

Georgia linebacker Jeffery Burley received his first Big Ten offer from the Minnesota Gophers on Monday and he spoke about it with GopherDigest.

"Coach Anderson stopped by the school on Monday and attended our practice, afterwards, I received an offer from Minnesota," Jackson (Ga.) linebacker Jeffery Burley said to GopherDigest about his new Minnesota offer. "I talked on the phone with him afterwards and he talked about how they're looking forward to seeing me up there for a visit and he gave me his number. Told me a little about Minnesota's program and the amount of Georgia players up there. I don't know much about Minnesota other than their linebacker coach is a beast and I love the way he coaches. Their program is producing a large number of NFL players too."

Even with the brand new offer, the Gophers have caught the eye of the Georgia linebacker.

"My interest in Minnesota is extremely high," Burley told GopherDigest. "I have high hopes in Minnesota and their program. Somethings that have me so interested in the Gophers are the amount of love they've shown in me. They show me more love than any other school I've been offered by. Also, my family is from Minnesota, so I would love to be closer to them and they're even excited about the offer. I plan on visiting Minnesota during the summer."

"I have visits planned to Mississippi State, Wake Forest and LSU here in the coming months too. I have no idea when they are, but my mom has a full schedule mapped out. I want to make a decision right before the season as I want to be able to full focus on my senior season. Minnesota is sitting pretty high on my list right now as they're second only to Wake Forest, and after Minnesota is Mississippi State. Wake is on top because I've already visited there. I'd put it at a 90% chance that I'll visit Minnesota's campus before my season starts."
