"Just got a sweet offer from Minnesota," Fort Myers (Fla.) Riverdale offensive lineman Cole Schneider said to GopherDigest on Wednesday night. "I've received offers from Florida International, Florida Atlantic, Bowling Green, Appalachian State and Marshall recently too. Three of them I received on Tuesday. Coach Sherels stopped by on Tuesday to watch practice and then I got a call from offensive line coach Bart Miller tonight. He was telling me how they would love to use me as an interior guy on the offensive line and they'd love to get me up there to check out the campus."
Schneider still has a lot to learn about the Golden Gophers following his offer earlier this week.
"Coach Miller knew me from when he was with FAU when they offered me then as they were my first offer," Schneider explained to GopherDigest. "Coach Sherels said on Tuesday that he really liked how I was looking at practice and that there is something about me that he really couldn't put his finger on, but it's good. I don't know too much about Minnesota, and I'm indecisive on what I want right now, but I'm really excited about the offer. I have a lot of camps coming up this summer too. I'll be at campus in Florida like Florida State, and the University of Florida and I'm thinking about attending the big camp in Birmingham as well."
"I'm also a state champion heavyweight wrestler as well," Schneider said. "I believe it's made me become the mentally tough, strong athlete that I am now. I have amazing hips, footwork, explosiveness and reaction time all thanks to wresting, and I also played soccer for nine years as well. Played everything except for goalie. As far as my strengths on the offensive line, I'm a fast and explosive pulling guard and I love to get north and south up the field when I see a hole. I'm pretty good with hand redirection as well. I'm not too sure when I want to make a decision yet as I'm hoping to get some more offers. I believe South Florida will be offering soon hopefully too. Location isn't a big deal to me either."
