"When I got there on Friday, I was able to meet with my hosts and go out to this fancy restaurant," 2016 Sarasota (Fla.) Booker wide receiver Osirus Mitchell said to GopherDigest. "My hosts for the visit were Jacob and Julian Huff and they were great guys. I hung out with them after dinner on Friday went back to their place before hitting my room at the hotel for the night. On Saturday, we had breakfast and then went on this big tour around the campus. We saw their practice field, locker rooms, weight room, academic buildings, dorms and the stadium, so I feel like I got to see pretty much everything. I then went back to head coach Tracy Claeys house for awhile so we could talked, and then my flight took off on Sunday morning, so it was a very full visit."
Mitchell enjoyed his time seeing Minnesota's campus and faciltiies.
"My favorite part of my visit in general and on the visit was heading to TCF Bank Stadium," Mitchell told GopherDigest. "I could visualize myself playing on that field in front of a packed house and how crazy it must be there. The locker room was also amazing, and they were telling me that it's the largest locker room in all of college football and in the NFL. The campus was pretty huge and it was in a big city, which I'd never really seen before, but I liked that. The stadium is beautiful there.
Minnesota head coach Tracy Claeys was also sure to get in his message to the 2016 Florida wide receiver.
"Coach Claeys was telling me how much they want me and how they have offered me a scholarship," Mitchell explained. "I'm not really sure when they offered, but I know I have an offer. Claeys was telling me how he likes how I'm great at tracking the ball while in the air, and then have the ability to go up and high point the ball and make a play. He wants to get me as a Gopher. I'd give my visit to Minnesota an 8/10, just because there wasn't a lot of people on campus because school is out, so I didn't get to really get a true feel for what it'd be like to go to school there."
Mitchell has potentially a crazy week unfolding ahead of me before a potential decision.
"I could be taking an official visit to Mississippi State on Tuesday, and then maybe another official visit to either Illinois or Bowling Green," Mitchell said to GopherDigest. "Mississippi has really been after me here just in the last few days to a week and they really want to get me on campus. Same with Illinois and Bowling Green. None of those three schools have offered yet, but sounds like if I visit them, they would. None of the visits are set yet, but we'll see. As of right now though, Minnesota is my number one school because of their appeal to me. I could see myself there, and I want to have a decision by next week."
