"I'm thinking their DL coach, Jeff Phelps is the Minnesota coach who offered, but it was my coach who let me know that I received an offer from the Gophers," Maryland defensive end Marcus Bowman explained to GopherDigest. "I received a message from coach Phelps saying that he's looking for some guys that can get after some of their Big Ten quarterbacks, and he thinks that I'm a guy who could do that for him. All I know about Minnesota is that they're in the Big Ten, so I have some more research to do."

Bowman is contemplating taking a visit to the Twin Cities this summer.

"I think it's a privilege to have any scholarships offers period," Bowman explained to GopherDigest. "Everyone doesn't receive an offer, so I appreciate Minnesota sending one my way. I can't give you a good answer on what my interest in Minnesota is like right now because I haven't done enough research on the school yet, but I'm interested. I need to get a better feel for what's going on with their academics though. I'll probably take a visit there in the summer."
