East Ridge head coach Daniel Fritze believes the Gophers are getting a good one in new specialist commit Grant Ryerse

East Ridge head coach Daniel Fritze believes the Gophers are getting a good one in new specialist commit Grant Ryerse. He goes in-depth with GopherDigest.

"As a player, Grant has a big leg, is very versatile (Kick-offs, FG’s, Punts) and he's a great athlete," East Ridge head coach Daniel Fritze said to GopherDigest. "As a person, he has immaculate character, is a great student and class act. The Gophers involved me throughout the process, but there wasn’t much I could give them that they didn’t already know.  They’re very dedicated in recruiting Minnesota kids."

"As a player for me, some of Grant's strengths are that he's mentallly tough, a great athlete and has a big leg. Like all kickers, he’ll continue to work on consistency. His work ethic is off the charts.  He’s obsessed with improving his craft. Grant is a 2016 captain.  He’s definitely a leader by example.  He also exemplifies the importance we put on special teams. Gopher fans can expect a player that will give 100% every day.  That’s all anyone can ask of him.  He’s very proud to be a Gopher, and he’ll do everything he can to support Gopher Nation."
