"The camp went great," Michigan linebacker Roy McCree IV said to GopherDigest. "I held my own, but I did not dominate like how I wanted to and that's what coach Sherels wants to see and where the concern of weight comes in. I guarantee that I will dominate those board drills at the next senior camp in July and show coach Sherels that I have been working hard at things."
McCree enjoyed his time at the Minnesota camp nonetheless.
"Coach Sherels is a great coach. I learned a lot from him and he fits my coaching style. Very hands on and I can see us having a great relationship," McCree explained to GopherDigest. "Sherels said that he was concerned about my weight and he wants to see me maintain 210 or higher during the season before an offer could come. We didn't really talk about that too much as we were just talking about what I need to work on and I think by doing those things I will get one. I think it will be a different conversation when I go for the second camp about an offer. A Minnesota offer would mean the world to me cecause it is a great place, I really like coach Sherels and his way of coaching and coach Claeys."
McCree has plenty more opportunities to camp at colleges this summer.
"I'm camping at Western Michigan on June 17, Toledo June 19, Michigan State on June 25, Rutgers June 28 and Minnesota again in July. Hoping to earn an offer from the Gophers then."
