"The visit went great as I just left campus," Nebraska offensive lineman Brett Kitrell said to GopherDigest. "I was able to see the players workout, talk to their nutritionist, apparel guys and took a tour of the campus. I met with coach Miller for awhile and watched film with him, and I also met with coach Claeys. I got to see their locker room, stadium, and pretty much anywhere a football player would spend their time. I had a great time at Minnesota."
Kitrell enjoyed his time at the Gopher facilities, on their campus and received good messages from the Minnesota coaches.
"The campus at Minnesota is beautiful," Kitrell explained to Scout.com. "Their facilities were top notch and the new facilities being built look amazing as well. I didn't get a chance to talk with any of the players much as I was just in the weight room while they were working out. Coach Miller's message to my family and I was that he wanted to let me know that he believes in me and that I'm the type of player they're looking for to help their program. He loves me as an interior offensive lineman. Coach Claeys said that the college I choose has to be the right fit for me and that he will help me develop into the best lineman I can be."
The Golden Gophers left a good impression on the Nebraska lineman and his family.
"My family was very impressed with the Minnesota visit and what the Gophers have to offer. My favorite part of the visit I'd say was just getting to know the staff better. There's a lot of positive things that came out of today and seems like something special is happening at the University of Minnesota. I'm very sincere with my interest in Minnesota. As far as a commitment, I have to process a lot of things in the next few weeks. I plan on making a commitment before my senior season, so my decision is getting closer. Minnesota is up there towards the top of my list for sure. Today was an awesome visit."
