"I've been talking to Wake Forest quite a bit with coach Jackson, and I been talking to Memphis and Minnesota quite a lot, and the newest one I've talked to lately is Abilene Christian," Arkansas defensive back Tre Norwood said to GopherDigest. "I have offers from Wake Forest, Minnesota, and Memphis and their main focus is trying to get me up on campus, and the Abilene Christian coach said he's going to have the DC watch my film."
Minnesota is among the new slew of offers that Norwood has accumulated so far this month.
"I had been in contact a little with defensive coordinator Jay Sawvel before the offer, and then during the Samford mega camp, they liked how I did and he offered me after the camp," Norwood explained to Scout.com. "He liked my length and size, and he liked that I have good hips and footwork, and my man to man skills are where they need to be as well. I'm real excited about the Minnesota offer, being it's a great program and they have a lot to offer, plus one of my teammates is up there as well. Kiondre Thomas. He was real excited and happy for me. Him being there, It comes in play, but all in all, it's what I feel is best for me, but it certainly helps with him up there. I don't know too much about them, but I do know is that they're in the Big Ten. I'm going to take an official up there and what's piqued my interest is the fact it's a great school academic wise, and that they have a great football program on the rise."
The Gophers will have some competition for the Northside defensive back.
"The school standing out to me right now are Minnesota, Wake Forest and Louisville," Norwood told GopherDigest. "Minnesota is there because of their good academics and good football program they have, Wake Forest has a really prestige academic program and their on the rise with the football program and Louisville is coming off a good season last year, and I like what all three teams have to offer. I'm going to go up to Memphis, Wake forest, and Louisville this summer yet, but I don't have firm dates set on any of those. I want to make a decision no later than August 17th as that's my moms birthday. Even if I commit, I'll most likely still take that Minnesota official visit."
