"The BBQ visit went great, as I really enjoyed the visit," Oregon athlete Demetrius Douglas said to GopherIllustrated. "I had a chance to tour the campus, talk with the coaches, met some of their players and ate some BBQ. It was great seeing the University of Minnesota campus again, and it was pretty cool seeing it from a recruiting perspective rather than a fan, which I had been for so many years before. I probably talked the most with coach Sawvel, and he and I talked about how they are very interested in me. He also talked specifically about corners and the different techniques they use there at Minnesota. I liked what he had to say about the defensive backs and how they played. It was good being able to talk to him in person."
"My family enjoyed the visit as well, as they were glad to be home," Douglas explained to Scout.com. "I feel good with Minnesota right now. I still have to weigh all my options though. I don't really have any unanswered questions about the Gophers, I just want to talk some time here first as I may possibly make a decision by the end of the month, but as I said earlier, I still need to look at my options and talk with my family about it. The biggest factor I'm looking for at each school is a University with strong academics. Football will definitely play a role as well, plus I'll need a school I'm comfortable with. I'm not sure what I want to major in yet, but I'm thinking somewhere along the lines of engineering or architecture."
