Dan Coleman will get release

6-9 forward Dan Coleman of Minnetonka (MN) Hopkins will get his release from Boston College and is expected to land at Minnesota. He will have to sit out the 2003-04 season, but would have four years of eligibility remaining. Coleman committed to the Eagles last June and helped lead Hopkins to a third place finish in the Class AAAA state championship this season. He was named to the College Basketball News' Minnesota All-State team after averaging 15 points and eight rebounds per game.

Dan Coleman is the nephew of former University of Minnesota player Ben Coleman. He was a Minnesota Mr. Basketball award finalist and would join high school teammate Kris Humphries. The two helped Hopkins win the 2002 Minnesota Class AAAA state title. The Gophers will Maurice Hargrow, Jeff Hagen, Adam Boone, Aaron Robinson, Stanley Gaines, Kris Humphries, Wesley Washington, Aliou Kane, Kerry Woolridge, Spencer Tollackson and Miles Webb on the roster next season.
