"I got a chance to check out the game day atmosphere and get a tour of the campus and Minneapolis," Illinois defensive tackle Kendrick Green said to GopherIllustrated about his Minnesota visit. "The Gopher fans were awesome at the game on Saturday, and I could see myself in that defense. It was a very intense atmosphere, and I heard it's even better when Big Ten play starts. I loved Minnesota's campus as it had the best feel I've had for a campus so far. It's like the campus isn't even in the city and that gives it an entirely different feel."
"My host for the visit was Kamal Martin and he's a very laid back and humble guy," Green told GopherIllustrated. "He just told me to make sure I take my time and make the best decision for me. I was with recruiting coordinator Billy Glasscock and defensive line coach Jeff Phelps the most while on the visit, and Glasscock was saying that they believe that I would be a great fit for the University and that they want to maximize my potential as a student athlete. Phelps basically told me the same thing. Coach Claeys told me this morning that I have tools that not everyone is blessed with and he thinks I could do big things with football at the University of Minnesota. Both of my parents loved the visit and they really want me to consider Minnesota. My favorite part of the visit I'd say would be eating at Fogo de Chao as it was crazy as I've never seen that much meat."
So where does Minnesota stand following Green's official visit?
"I definitely favor them as I love the Minnesota coaching staff, and I got a better feel there than I have any other school. It's like one big community and everyone seems to show love to one another there. I'm going to give my decision some thought and time and see how I feeling in a couple of weeks and go from there."
