Week 7 Big Ten East Power Ratings

Ohio State and Michigan continue to roll and are setting the stage for an epic finale in Columbus. Will the Buckeyes face a challenge this week as they head into the West to take on Wisconsin?

Big Ten East Power Ratings:  Week 7

No. 1 Ohio State

DTCR:  60% (No Change)

Week 7:  Ohio State continues to roll and are now 5-0 on the season following at 38-17 home victory over Indiana.  The Buckeyes now hit the road for two straight weeks as they travel to Wisconsin and Penn State.  There is a lot of hype for the Buckeyes and Badgers this weekend but I believe it will just be another opportunity for Brutus to flex his muscles.

No. 2 Michigan

DTCR:  40% (No Change)

Week 7:  Michigan traveled to Rutgers over the weekend and was never challenged.  The Wolverines absolutely embarrassed the Scarlet Knights 78-0.  Sure 78 points is impressive, but the Michigan defense didn’t allow Rutgers a first down until the fourth quarter.  Ouch.  Michigan is off this week and then host Illinois.  They are all set to be 7-0 when they head to East Lansing on October 29 looking for re-take the state.

No. 3 Penn State

DTCR:  0% (No Change)

Week 7:  After the top two there is a Grand Canyon like drop to No. 3.  This week I will give it to Penn State.  The Lions now sit 2-1 in the Big Ten after consecutive home victories over Minnesota and Maryland.  Expect Penn State to return to mediocrity after their bye this week as they host Ohio State.

No. 4 Maryland

DTCR:  0% (No Change)

Week 7:  The Terps were puffing their chest as they rolled into Happy Valley this past weekend thinking they could give their border rival a contest.  The Terps were sitting at 4-0 and riding high.  Maryland couldn’t hang and Penn State rolled 38-14.  Maryland does have a chance regain momentum with struggling Minnesota and Michigan State coming to College Park the next two Saturday’s.

No. 5 Michigan State

DTCR:  0% (No Change)

Week 7:  The Spartans are who I thought they were heading into the 2016 season.  I put Sparty on a 7-5 season and right now they look exactly like a team that will have to fight to get to seven wins.  Last Saturday a 2-3 BYU team came to East Lansing and dominated Michigan State.  What was actually surprising was BYU dominance over a strong Spartan defensive front.  State gets Northwestern at home this weekend in a battle of 2-3 football teams.

No. 6 Indiana

DTCR:  0% (No Change)

Week 7:  The Hoosiers were rewarded with their impressive overtime win over Michigan State with a ticket to Ohio State.  While Indiana wasn’t embarrassed they did lose to the best team in the Big Ten 38-17.  The Hoosiers will look to rebound this Saturday as Nebraska comes to Bloomington.  In my preseason outlook this was listed as a Hoosier victory.  Upset Alert.

No. 7 Rutgers

DTCR:  0% (No Change)

Week 7:  They are bad.
