"On my visit, I was able to see the mall, campus, eat with the coaches and players, and go to the game on Saturday," Florida defender and Minnesota commit Claudin Cherelus said to GopherIllustrated. "From the small portion I saw of the Mall of the America, I'm going to in there a lot. Their campus is nice as it's close to where we'll be staying, so that's perfect. I also loved the game and the atmosphere was amazing, and it was that way throughout the entire city."
"I talked a lot with Phillip Howard, Kamal Martin and Carter Coughlin the most, and they're good guys. I spent the first night with Phil, and the second with Kamal, but all of them and their roommates took me in like a brother. Phil was a cool dude, and he answered my small questions and his message to me was to have fun, but stay out of trouble and stat focused on football. Kamal's message was just that I'm going to love it here. I talked a lot of coach O'Brian and he was telling how great it is here at Minnesota, and he just wants me to be comfortable and I'll be a great player. Coach Claeys talked with my mother and I about the opportunities that this school has with education and football as well. My mom loved the visit, just like I did."
Cherelus is very happy after seeing Minnesota for the first time.
"My favorite part of the visit was just seeing the game, and I'm feeling great about Minnesota. Even better than I was coming in. I'm 100% done with my recruitment still as Minnesota will be the only visit I'll take, and I want Gopher fans to know it's going to fun watching me on Saturday's."
