"I got a chance to see the great facilities, meet the coaches, and meet some of the players," Texas linebacker Bryson Jackson said to GopherIllustrated. "I also got a chance to see the great city of Minneapolis and St. Paul. The campus up at Minnesota was great as it's a lot bigger than most colleges I have visited. Just an amazing campus with a lot of opportunity and different degree plans. The game was very exciting as I love the way the defense stepped up, plus I also loved the way the coaches utilize their defense."
"They didn't tell me who my host was, but I spent most of my time with Kamal Martin and Carter Coughlin and they are both great players," Jackson explained to GI. "They seem like great teammates that I can play with. Their message to me was to come join the family there as we're going to do big things in the future, and with me, that's a plus one. They also told me that this program is going to transform me into a beast on the field. Coach Sherels basically said he wants me to come play for him as he feels that he can develop me into a great man and football player. He also says that I can come in and change the program around by just bringing my leadership skills there. Coach Claeys was really impressed with me. He wants me to come play for him. He doesn't want to pressure me in making my decision, but he wants me to want to come to Minnesota. Both coaches told me they want to use me as a weak side linebacker that can rush the passer and drop into coverage, and I feel great about it. I love playing that type of position and having that role."
Minnesota is in a great place for Jackson now following the visit.
"As of now, Minnesota is hot with me as they're my number one school right now. My favorite part of the visit was going on the campus tour seeing all the renovations to the football program, and Minnesota is number one for me because I've created great relationships with all the staff and Minnesota fits me as a person. I will be able to excel there and further my career. My ultimate goal was to commit after I'm done with my football season, so we'll see what happens. My mother, father and little brother came with on the visit, and my family loves it there. As much as they won't me to stay close to home, they don't mind me going off to Minnesota either. I really like the Gophers right now."
