"Minnesota coach Mike Sherels visited the high school and talked to my head coach, and that's when Sherels told coach Boltmann that they are officially offering me a scholarship," 2019 Edina (Minn.) offensive lineman Quinn Carroll said to GI. "I haven't talked to a Gopher coach directly about it yet, as my high school coach is the one that told me, but it's truly a blessing and a culmination of a lot of hard work and support."
Carroll's father was a one-time Gopher, and that's gone a long way for the youngest Carroll.
"I've been a Gophers fan since day one and my dad has relayed some pretty special memories about being a gopher, so when I told my dad that Minnesota offered, it was very emotional," Carroll explained to GI. "This has been a dream for all of my brothers to have an offer from my dads alumni ,and having his last boy receive that offer so early is very special."
"Obviously this is my hometown team and I'm very flattered, but I have a lot of time and I'm still trying to figure out what I want in a program. It's hard for me to compare offers, but it being my first Big Ten offer, this is exciting. I don't have anymore visits planned as of right now."
