"It's always been a dream of mine to go play Big Ten Football, and Minnesota has given me that opportunity," Wisconsin wide receiver Reid Hilbelink said to GopherIllustrated. "After visiting for a game, I fell in love with the school. The coaches were great to me, the gameday atmosphere was awesome too. One thing that got me hook, line and sinker was the players praying together before the game because that's a huge thing to me. I called coach Glasscock to commit on Monday, and I told him that I'd gladly accept the walk-on offer, and I'll work my tail off to be the best player I can be for them. He's told me that he thinks I can do very well as a Gopher and that he's excited to have me."
"I've been in contact with coach Glasscock the most, and his message to me has been consistent. He watched my film and liked what he saw, so he and the staff wanted to offer me a walk-on opportunity. He's told me a lot about the U of M and has been honest with me throughout the entire recruiting process. Things between Wisconsin and I just didn't work out, so I'm happy to be a Gopher. My family loves my decision and they're behind me 100%. It's actually really cool to me to be a Wisconsin kid committed to Minnesota. I grew up in a small town and loving all the Wisconsin sports so much, it'll be kind of nice to start my own journey at Minnesota. I want Gopher fans to know I'm honored and beyond excited to put on that Gopher jersey."
