"I made my decision just about a half hour ago now, and my decision is that I want to be a Minnesota Golden Gopher," Texas linebacker Bryson Jackson said to GopherIllustrated. "I took a visit to Colorado State last weekend, and just when I returned it was pretty clear to me that Minnesota was the place for me. It just felt right. Just knowing the way the linebackers coach Mike Sherels develops his players and the relationship he has with his guys is really important to me. I want to have a good relationship with my coaches, and Minnesota gives me that."
"I messaged coach Sherels tonight that I was hoping to FaceTime with him, coach Claeys and Poore and when they answered just a bit ago now, I told them I wanted to come to Minnesota," Jackson explained to GopherIllustrated. "They were jumping up and down and were really pumped and excited to have me come into the fold. I guess what sold me on Minnesota was meeting with their players when I was up there on my official visit. I talked a lot with Carter Coughlin and Kamal Martin and they provided me with a ton of information on what it's like to be a Gopher linebacker, and I can't wait to be their teammate now. Sherels has told me that they're planning on using me as a Sam linebacker that can cover, but also be a weapon as a blitzer, so that sounds great to me."
Jackson tells Gopher fans he's done with the recruiting process now with his commitment.
"The plan is for this Minnesota commitment to end my recruitment," Jackson told GI. "I want Gopher fans to know I'm really excited to be a part of the family!"
