CHRIS PERRY, Michigan          SR        RB        Advance, NC/Fork Union Military Academy

Chris Perry rushed 22 times for a career-high 232 yards and scored two touchdowns in the Wolverines' win over Central Michigan. It was the best opening-day rushing total (and eighth-best single-game rushing total) in Michigan history and Perry's first 200-yard outing. Perry also caught one 17-yard pass in the victory. This is his second career Big Ten weekly honor after earning Player of the Week accolades on Sept. 2, 2002.

JASON WRIGHT, Northwestern            SR        RB        Diamond Bar, CA/Diamond Bar

Jason Wright picks up his fourth career Conference weekly award after matching his career-best single-game highs with 196 yards (on 41 carries) and four rushing touchdowns in NU's victory at Kansas. He also added an 11-yard reception and a 21-yard kickoff return for a total of 228 all-purpose yards. Wright moved into 11th place on NU's all-time rushing list and into seventh place on the Wildcats' career rushing touchdowns chart (16).

JOVON JOHNSON, IOWA         SO       CB        Erie, PA/Mercyhurst Prep

Jovon Johnson collected two interceptions along with five tackles (three solos) and three pass break-ups in Iowa's win over Miami, Ohio. His pair of picks came at critical times as his first interception was in the end zone on a Miami first-and-goal situation from the two-yard line while he returned his second INT of the game 20 yards to set up the Hawkeyes' second score of the day. This is his first career Big Ten weekly honor.
