"It's just a blessing right now to know that I'm committed to the University of Minnesota," Illinois wide receiver Chris Bell explained to GopherIllustrated. "I was always told I was a Big Ten and SEC kind of player, and now I feel it. I called coach Fleck tonight and he told me that he was hoping I'm ready to be a big time Big Ten wide receiver, and I definitely am."
"I committed to Minnesota tonight because it's a great chance to be a part of a great conference with great competition and great coaching from coach Fleck's staff," Bell told GopherIllustrated. "Coach Fleck has told me that he loves how I'm just a unique wide receiver. He likes my work ethic and how he's going to be getting 120% on each rep. What I like about coach Fleck so much is that we've had the same life. We're both wide receivers, both smart minded and we've always got along well. Minnesota, I repeat, Minnesota is getting an "underrated" wide receiver that has fire in his eyes. I'm just a non-stop worker. I love to compete. You try me, I'm trying right back. I never give up. When I told coach Fleck I wanted to join him at Minnesota, he loved it."
Bell has high expectations for his future time at Minnesota.
"I know that Minnesota has a great education, a great team, great facilities and a great environment. I'm going to be taking my official visit to Minnesota in a week or two yet, but I'll be bringing excitement, big players and high character to the Twin Cities. I'm looking forward to a great education, a Big Ten championship and a national championship."
