GopherIllustrated.com: What is your current height and weight? What weight would the Gopher staff like you to report at this summer?
Malcolm Robinson: I'm 6'2" 285 lbs, and I want to report to camp at 285 lbs.
GopherIllustrated.com: What are your individual and team goals you hope to accomplish during your college career?
MR: Individual goals are to better myself as a man start as a true freshman and to become an ELITE leader and player for Minnesota. My team goals are to win the Big Ten, and go to the college football playoffs and win a national title. I also hope to make it to the NFL and graduate with my degree.
GopherIllustrated.com: What are you looking to work on the most this spring to prepare yourself for Big Ten football?
MR: What I'm working on to prepare myself is my running. What helped me in high school was that I could move, now I need to make sure I can move in college. We have an outstanding strength coach and he will get me big, but I want to be able to move very well too.
GopherIllustrated.com: What future moment are you looking forward to the most as a Gopher?
MR: There's two future moments I look forward to as a Gopher. One is walking across stage with my college diploma and second is holding up that National Championship trophy.
GopherIllustrated.com: What was the main reason you chose to attend the University of Minnesota?
MR: I chose Minnesota because coach P.J. Fleck came to me with a goal. Not a dream, but a goal, and I want to be a part of the legacy that achieves that goal.
GopherIllustrated.com: What team do you want to beat the most as a Gopher and why?
MR: I want to beat two teams. Whatever team we are facing in the national championship game, and Ohio State. I want to win a national championship and I'm an Ohio kid attending another school with a crack on his shoulder, so what do you expect?
GopherIllustrated.com: Is there any unfinished academic business or are you all set to enroll at Minnesota?
MR: I'm all set to enroll!
GopherIllustrated.com: If you don't make it to the NFL, where do you see yourself in 10 years?
MR: I see myself being an outstanding husband and a part of coach Fleck's coaching staff.
GopherIllustrated.com: What is it about Coach Fleck and the coaching staff that makes you want to play for them?
MR: Coach Fleck and his staff love and care about their guys. They have experience and are big time competitors at what they do and are all outstanding husbands and fathers.
GopherIllustrated.com: What is something you learned about University of Minnesota that surprised you during the recruiting process?
MR: That the fans are so crazy and love their Minnesota football players.
GopherIllustrated.com: What position do you expect to play at Minnesota? What other position did the Gopher staff mention as a possibility?
MR: I plan on playing whereever they need me to play.
GopherIllustrated.com: What have the coaches told you regarding how they plan to utilize your strengths as a player?
MR: They just plan on me to use fantastic technique and to get after it every play and to be ELITE.
GopherIllustrated.com: Have you had any communication with other Minnesota recruits and if so what?
MR: I talk to the Minnesota recruits every day as those are my brothers.
GopherIllustrated.com: What player do you model your game after and why?
MR: Ray Lewis as he has the howl, the drive, the leadership and the mindset I strive to achieve every single day I wake up on and off the field.
