Gophers PWO defenisve lineman signee Quinn Coughlin can't wait to join his older brother Carter at Minnesota

Eden Prairie (Minn.) defensive tackle and new Gopher signee Quinn Coughlin is the latest Gopher to sign in the 2017 class and he went in-depth with to share more about his reasons to sign with Minnesota. What is your current height and weight? What weight would the Gopher staff like you to report at this summer?

Quinn Coughlin: I'm 6'3" 250 lbs, and I just know that want me to get bigger. What are your individual and team goals you hope to accomplish during your college career?

QC: Bottom line is whatever I can do to make the team better - Carter and I have always dreamed of playing for the Gophers and winning the Rose Bowl. What are you looking to work on the most this spring to prepare yourself for Big Ten football?

QC: The truth is I know I have to get bigger and stronger but in addition to that I am working hard to increase my agility and speed. What future moment are you looking forward to the most as a Gopher?

QC: The future moment I'm looking forward to most is wearing Maroon and Gold and playing Gopher football with my brother. What was the main reason you chose to attend the University of Minnesota?

QC: It's always been my dream for as long as I can remember to be a Gopher.  Growing up we went to almost every football game and now I have a chance to be one of the guys wearing the Maroon and Gold. What team do you want to beat the most as a Gopher and why?

QC: Growing up I always hated the Badgers and Hawkeyes and I can't wait to take back the Axe and the Pig. Is there any unfinished academic business or are you all set to enroll at Minnesota?

QC: I'm all set to go and I can't wait to get started! If you don't make it to the NFL, where do you see yourself in 10 years?

QC:  plan on majoring in communications with a minor in business finance. I hope to be in sales for a company here in the Twin Cities. What is it about Coach Fleck and the coaching staff that makes you want to play for them?

QC: Coach Fleck and his staff show great leadership and energy -- makes me want to play for a guy like that. He is committed to making his players the best they can be both on the field and in life. What position do you expect to play at Minnesota? What other position did the Gopher staff mention as a possibility?

QC: I'll be playing defensive tackle or nose guard at Minnesota. What player do you model your game after and why?

QC: I love the way Big Steve (Steven Richardson) plays the game.  He plays with a chip on his shoulder and he is an explosive player.
