GopherIllustrated.com: What is your current height and weight? What weight would the Gopher staff like you to report at this summer?
Noah Hickcox: My current height and weight is 6'4 278 lbs, and I haven't been told a specific weight that I had to be at when I report, so I do not know.
GopherIllustrated.com: What are your individual and team goals you hope to accomplish during your college career?
NH: My individual goals is to be the best teammate I can be to those around me, lead by example, and keep my promise that I made to my dad by being able to take care of my family. My team goal is to be a bigger family than we already are, take over the Big 10 and win a national championship.
GopherIllustrated.com: What are you looking to work on the most this spring to prepare yourself for Big Ten football?
NH: I'm working most on my pass rush moves, getting faster off the ball, and having quick hands and moving laterally faster.
GopherIllustrated.com: What future moment are you looking forward to the most as a Gopher?
NH: Holding up the rivalry trophies that my family and I are going to take away.
GopherIllustrated.com: What was the main reason you chose to attend the University of Minnesota?
NH: Coach Fleck is one of the main reasons, as well as such an amazing academic opportunity.
GopherIllustrated.com: What team do you want to beat the most as a Gopher and why?
NH: I want to beat Wisconsin the most because I was raised a Badger fan, and now getting to play against them, I can't wait to beat them.
GopherIllustrated.com: Is there any unfinished academic business or are you all set to enroll at Minnesota?
NH: I'm all set to enroll.
GopherIllustrated.com: If you don't make it to the NFL, where do you see yourself in 10 years?
NH: At a high school, teaching school and young athletes, developing them into amazing football talent.
GopherIllustrated.com: What is it about Coach Fleck and the coaching staff that makes you want to play for them?
NH: It's the culture that they have set up and enforce, they have a certain energy and passion that I've never seen a coaching staff have and I can't wait to play for them.
GopherIllustrated.com: What is something you learned about University of Minnesota that surprised you during the recruiting process?
NH: I've never heard of their under ground tunnel system for the winter, I thought that was really cool.
GopherIllustrated.com: What position do you expect to play at Minnesota? What other position did the Gopher staff mention as a possibility?
NH: I'm expecting to play both a 5 technique DE and a 3 technique DT, and I haven't heard of any other position from any coaches.
GopherIllustrated.com: What have the coaches told you regarding how they plan to utilize your strengths as a player?
NH: They expect me to come in and make an impact right away, but it is up to me whether or not I make that impact.
GopherIllustrated.com: Have you had any communication with other Minnesota recruits and if so what?
NH: And all of us recruits talk in the group chat we have everyday, not about specifically anything but just a lot of guys talking like brothers.
GopherIllustrated.com: What player do you model your game after and why?
NH: I model JJ Watt because his work ethic is unmatched and I love the way he plays the game, I'm excited to see his return next year.
