Gophers tight end signee Nathan Bursch wants to be the next Greg Olson for the Golden Gophers

Woodbury (Minn.) tight end and new Gopher signee Nathan Bursch is the latest Gopher to sign in the 2017 class and he went in-depth with to share more about his reasons to sign with Minnesota. What is your current height and weight? What weight would the Gopher staff like you to report at this summer?

Nathan BurschI'm currently 6'5" 245 pounds and they haven't told me what weight they want me at yet. What are your individual and team goals you hope to accomplish during your college career?

NB: My goals are to win the Big Ten and get my degree. What are you looking to work on the most this spring to prepare yourself for Big Ten football?

NB: I'm working on getting bigger, stronger and faster this spring for the Big Ten. What future moment are you looking forward to the most as a Gopher?

NB: Future moment I'm looking forward to most is getting the Axe and Pig back. What was the main reason you chose to attend the University of Minnesota?

NB: I chose Minnesota because I grew up watching them, and I want to play for my state, friends and my family. What team do you want to beat the most as a Gopher and why?

NB: I want to beat every team, but the team I want to beat most in Wisconsin. Is there any unfinished academic business or are you all set to enroll at Minnesota?

NB: I am already accepted into the University of Minnesota. If you don't make it to the NFL, where do you see yourself in 10 years?

NB: I see myself with a Big 10 championship ring, U of M degree, job, and a family. What is it about Coach Fleck and the coaching staff that makes you want to play for them?

NB: The thing I like most about the coaches is they are super excited and ready to get after it each and every day. What is something you learned about University of Minnesota that surprised you during the recruiting process?

NB: The recruiting process from Minnesota for me was very brief and quick. I would say that the most exciting thing I learned was the history of the program and how successful it was and how successful we will make it again. What position do you expect to play at Minnesota? What other position did the Gopher staff mention as a possibility?

NB: I expect to play tight end, but I'm willing to play anything to help the team win. What have the coaches told you regarding how they plan to utilize your strengths as a player?

NB: They plan to use me as a blocking TE for sure and if I can catch the ball, they will throw me the ball. What player do you model your game after and why?

NB: I model my game after Greg Olson as he's a great blocker, and then can sneak out and will pick up 10-20 yards every time he gets thrown the ball.
